When several of us left our corporate day jobs back in 2000, we thought we were setting up an IT hardware business that would fill a gap in the market. We envisioned a company that emphasized autonomy, fairness, and doing right by the customer.

Clients proved so hungry for that approach, soon they were asking us for strategic advice and implementation to go along with all the boxes and servers we were sourcing for them. In 15 years, we’d become one of the Southeast’s largest privately held IT solutions providers.

In 2014, after realizing we’d outgrown our original business model, we spun off our consulting services to create Cumberland Group, a company specializing in tailored IT solutions for companies of all sizes across all industries. From physical data centers to always-on environments, we know what it takes to be successful, because we’ve experienced and worked through these challenges firsthand.

All those years of under-the-hood experience nurtured a unique perspective that combines expert, hands-on IT knowledge with business acumen.
